Director of Economic Advocacy

Akanksha Padheriya is a junior at Fairfax High School (Fairfax, VA). She has been actively involved in her school community by serving as a FCPS Student Advisory Council delegate, Class Council Officer, and Model United Nations Officer. Her love for policy originates from doing Model United Nations in middle school where she interacted with people from diverse backgrounds and was able to draft/lobby suitable resolutions to world problems. Her main political interest is for politicians and societal leaders to actively involve today's youth in policy-making and influencing political processes since youth are entitled to advocate for issues that concern them and have valuable perspectives regarding global concerns. Other than policy writing and debate, Akanksha has a tremendous passion for music. She has been playing the violin and piano for nearly 9 years and hopes to major in music performance as a violinist. She has also been doing Indian classical dance for 10 years. In her free time, she loves to cook for her family and friends (@cookingwithakanksha on instagram), listen to Daniel Caesar, and record for her podcast “Podheriya” (on Spotify).
